About these calculators
Flooring and wall materials are bought in fixed units, boxes of tile and bags of grout, so every estimate ends by rounding up to whole packages. Buying everything from the same production batch also matters: tiles from different lots can vary slightly in shade and size.
Start with an accurate room area, add a waste allowance that reflects the layout (straight lay, diagonal or herringbone), and keep a few spare pieces for future repairs.
